FAR FROM THE NOISE AND FURY

Forget everything you thought you knew: in Villeneuve-Lès-Avignon, Le Prieuré will make you want to pack your bags for a weekend combining delicate delicacy and absolute serenity, both tinged with a bit of discovery of its surroundings.

Leave aside your excessive enthusiasm for the hotels you've already seen too much of, too crowded or too urban, and allow yourself to be pampered in a countryside setting located rather unexpectedly within an old Priory dating from the fourteenth century.  Its restoration was perfectly conducted by Jean-André and Geneviève Charial in 2007 and allowed the Priory to acquire its letters of nobility: between past and present, modernity and tradition. It's the perfect setting for a relaxed stay where all your troubles seem to melt away.

Le Prieuré has only 10 rooms, 4 junior suites and 2 suites which pretty much assures you that you won't feel suffocated. Want a totally exclusive stay? Le Chapitre, which is the adjoining property of Le Prieuré, has only 6 rooms and one junior suite which could be yours.

At about 485 sq. ft., it has a lovely sitting area, perfect for a moment of tranquility. Take a moment to admire the association between the old and the modern, without any ostentatiousness. And don't forget to request a room with a balcony when booking, for an extra dose of Vitamin D.

And if you are particularly demanding, take note that the most beautiful rooms of Le Prieuré are located in the Atrium which is the oldest part of the hotel located poolside.

CHARM, CHARM, AND A BIT OF MORE CHARM…

The charm continues all the way to the restaurant, Prieuré. Chef Marc Fontanne and his team welcomes you. He may be young but his vision and skill rivals those much older than himself. After rewarding experiences at restaurants such as Auberge des Templiers, La Reserve de Beaulieu, Anne Sophie Pic, or at Château Saint Martin, we now find him here as the head of this Michelin starred establishment.

Among his most memorable encounters? Ten years alongside Yannick Franques, MOF 2004, who knew how to create an intact love for the southern flavors.

“The 10 years spent with Yannick Franques allowed me to perfect my technical skills and develop my creativity. It is with great enthusiasm that I join the team of Prieuré  to help you discover my cuisine. “

And if you feel like putting on shoes and going for a walk in the wind, you will discover a village so bucolic that it's literally picture perfect with Fort Saint André, The Charterhouse and the beautiful collegiate church Our Lady.

Ideally located, Le Prieuré is at the crossroads of summer festivals, sports activities or more cultural moments. And for its guests, the establishment has thought of everything; ask for your roadmap and go, for example, to meet the wines of the Rhone Valley: Châteauneuf-du-Pape has many areas, but do not miss also the villages of Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Beaumes-de-Venise.

And because Le Prieuré does not skimp on detail,  the sommelier Céline Viany will be happy to create a tasting entirely made to measure according to your desires.

For those who do not have the motivation to extricate themselves from their cocoon of vegetation, the hotel has thought of a “wine corner” in the heart of the restaurant. Here you will find the favorites of the chef sommelier. On Saturday morning, wine events are also organized.

As for your least expectations at the Le Prieuré, even those will be answered by Maud at the reception, who will help you make beautiful discoveries in the region, but who will also answer your questions during your stay.

Sincerely Petite in Paris,

Diane
