The Art of Layering
With the holidays right around the corner, it's no wonder I turn to layering to bundle up this winter season! Like many people, the holiday season is my favorite time of the year. Everyone is jolly, decorations are in the storefront, and the best part is being able to spend time with family and friends!
When I envision Christmas Day, I imagine gathering around the Christmas tree, sharing family stories, drinking hot cocoa, and having Christmas tunes lightly playing in the background.
Lately, I've had many people ask me what is my go to outfit for the holiday season and more specifically Christmas? Well you're in luck because I've outlined exactly what I will wear for Christmas Day, and it's all about adding different layers.
Let's jump right in, to begin; I grabbed a cozy warm grey wool sweater. More specifically; this one I’m wearing from Marks and Spencer. It was the perfect fit, thin enough to fit under my jacket and warm enough to wear during cold days. Definitely a staple pierce everyone needs to add to your wardrobe.
The next piece I grabbed was a big blue knitted scarf. This bulky scarf is perfect for keeping warm during those cool breezy nights traveling between the relatives house. Being petite it is difficult to find scarves at the perfect length, this one fits extremely well especially when you double wrap the scarf.
Finally I paired this outfit with a short pea coat jacket. This petite jacket fell right above my waist needing zero alterations! When a piece such as a jacket doesn’t need alternations, it’s an immediate buy for me! Marks and Spencer is notorious for having a great petite section, it has always been my favorite place to buy petite clothes. Not only is the quality unbelievable, the fit is always a perfect fit. Not having to get clothes altered saves time and money.
I also decided to wear these little booties with my jeans! The reason I adore this so much, besides the fact they are cute, is the faux fur inside. Keeping your feet nice and cozy while walking through the snow.
Well, there you have it, my go-to holiday outfit this year!
