A few years ago, I decided to take a risk and invest in a bright-colored Kooreloo bag, I didn’t want to spend a fortune on it since I didn’t know if I would love wearing such a statement color. As many of you know, I tend to stick to the neutral colors. With that being said, I was shopping in NYC and I stumbled upon a bright orange color woven handbag from Kooreloo. I’m not typically someone who buys on impulse, but the Kooreloo Geometry Ersilia Mediterranean bag had everything I was looking for in a fun, bright-colored bag.
History of the Kooreloo Bag?
Founded in 2014, by Leila Karr, Kooreloo bags incorporate the perfect blend of European Chic style and the Mediterranean culture. What started out as a way to incorporate more color in Karr’s “corporate financial” life, grew into a successful handbag company. Not only are each of these bags hand woven, inside every bag there is an image of a Greek Goddess from Athena that is said to inspire, and spark creativity.
Today, Kooreloo continues to grow and has expanded both domestically and internationally!
What is the Average Price of a Kooreloo Bag?
There are multiple different styles and color combinations. Pricing for Kooreloo bags start at around $185. The good news is there is no bag that is priced over $1,000.
Unlike other designers, What I do love about Kooreloo is that the bags go on sale. On their website, they only have limited bags, so oftentimes if a bag sells out, it’s not a guarantee that they will restock that style or color combination. I always recommend to people, that if you are really wanting a specific style and color, then I would buy it before it sells out.
What is the Quality of the Kooreloo Brand?
One of the things that drew me to the bag was the high quality. I'm a big supporter of investing in high quality handbags that will last for years to come. I didn’t realize this before purchasing the bag, but I find fascinating is that it was inspired by an ancient woven technique used to create rugs called in Greek “kourelou”, in English it is translated patchwork. Kooreloo took this technique to create magnificent hand woven bags.
So you may be wondering, what is the quality of the Kooreloo bags? In short, I was blown away with the attention to detail and craftsmanship used on the bag, by the high quality material used, and for how sturdy the bag is.
Are Kooreloo bags worth the price?
Now for the question of the day, is the Kooreloo bag worth the price or worth investing in? In my opinion, It’s hard to find high quality bags that are priced under $1,000. If I’m investing in a bag, I want to make sure the quality is impeccable and will last for years to come.
In short, Yes, the Kooreloo bag is worth investing in!
If you are looking for a high quality fun bag that is priced under $1,000 then Kooreloo is a great option! I would highly recommend investing in one of their classic timeless pieces such as crossbody bag in more of a neutral color. I find that neutral colors are always easier to match. I must admit, I don’t wear my Kooreloo bag as much as I thought I would, not because the quality is bad, because only because I naturally gravitate towards neutral color bags. If I could do it all over again, I'd definitely invest in a more neutral color, mainly because that's what I wear!
Where can you buy the Kooreloo bag?
Given that Kooreloo has grown in popularity over the years, you are able to find their handbags are so many department stores in the US. Kooreloo is available to purchase at Neiman Marcus, Saks, Shopbop and the Kooreloo shop itself.
Recap on if Kooreloo bags are worth it
In short, if you are considering a Kooreloo bag, I definitely think it’s worth investing in. The high quality craftsmanship, hand woven design, and blend between European Chic and Mediterranean culture make this bag unique, and worth it!
The best part, is since the Kooreloo bags are all hand woven, no two bags are exactly alike, the color combination is going to be slightly different. While, it is not extremely noticeable, but I think this is what makes Kooreloo bags so unique. I’d love to hear from you, have you heard of Kooreloo bags, and if you own one do you think Kooreloo bags are worth it?
