As many of you already know, I grew up in Kansas City. No, we did not live on a farm, and we didn’t have chickens. I lived in a suburban neighborhood on a cul-de-sac. My family was fortunate to live in an area where you know and hang out with your neighbors. It was a wonderful childhood!

Working at a start-up IT company, I’ve been blessed with having flexibility in my work schedule. Which means I can come home for the entire month of August. Since I could work from home I also could spend more time with my family. This is an opportunity that most companies do not offer and I’m extremely grateful for the experience.

One of my favorite fashion items is jewelry. I’ve always was obsessed with Daniel Wellington watches, long before I ever became a blogger. So, what better way than to capture 2 of my most precious things in Kansas, Tori, the most adorable dog and my new black petite Daniel Wellington Watch. What I love about this watch is the new mesh band with the smaller face. It’s perfect for my petite wrist. Also, it matches just about every outfit you can think of, from very casual to evening wear. My second precious piece of jewelry I’m wearing is my tiny tags necklace. I was so excited when I received this personalized 14k gold necklace engraved with my initial. It is a delicate but substantial piece of jewelry that you will wear for years to come. I received many compliments from people who saw the necklace during my time at home. It is a distinctive piece that complements many fashion trends.

I wore several different outfits when I was in KC, but one of my favorites was my all black outfit with a green jacket. Olive Green has been one of my go to colors especially for fall. The color highlights my hair and eyes while making my jewelry sparkle. It also creates more of a warm looking outfit when partnered with the extremes of total black. Olive green is a great accent color with the dark fall and winter apparel items.
