Comment on Understanding the Tax Refund Service in France and Galeries Lafayette new Self Service Tax Back Refund Machines by Mark.

Bonjour Dianne,

Thank you for sharing your insights on this blogpost, super helpful! Hoping you can provide some guidance as I recently purchased a few items at Galeries Lafayette. While generating the tax refund slip using the self service kiosk, I selected credit card refund and swiped my card in the machine (instead of inserting it since that approach didn’t work). Afterwards, I noticed only the words “carte bancaire” under the mode de remboursement section of the form was printed but did not see the actual credit card number listed (or even the greyed out version to ensure privacy). Given that, I’m unsure whether my credit card number was captured in the system for the tax reimbursement as other forms completed at the LV store have credit card numbers printed out on the form. Would you know if that’s to be expected?

When I scanned the forms at the PABLO machine at CDG it was approved and subsequently dropped the forms off at the bins but haven’t been able to track progress either through Global Blue (http://secure.globalblue.com/tax-free-shopping/refund-tracker) or Premier Tax Free (http://premiertaxfree.com/track-my-refund).

Curious if you know of another way (or website) to track the progress of my tax refund online?

Merci Beaucoup!

Mark
