Being new to NYC, it’s imperative that I check out all the vintage shopping the city has to offer. The first store on my list to check out was What Goes Around Comes Around NYC (WGACA). I was looking for vintage Chanel, Hermes and Louis Vuitton bags. I kid you not when I tell you I got giddy walking into the store because of their abundance of vintage bags.
My Experience at the NYC WGACA store
I was beyond excited walking into the WGACA Soho store. Upon entering the store, I was greeted with an extremely friendly staff. Since at this point I was still browsing and not sure what I was looking for, they asked me a bunch of questions: what type of bag I was looking for, what bags I currently have in my collection, and even asked about my dream bag. Shop vintage luxury bags from WGACA!
The staff encouraged me to try on any bag that caught my eye. Trust me when I say I didn’t hold back. I tried on so many rare vintage bags. I tried on bags that I’ve only dreamed about, such as exotic Hermes Constance bags, Chanel bags I’ve never seen before, and even one giant Birkin bag. When purchasing a vintage bag, you want to make sure that you love the bag, have time to inspect it, and that it fits your style. There were so many bags I adored, but ultimately settled on a vintage Hermes Evelyne Mini Bag.
4 Reasons WGACA is Different From Other Vintage Shops
1. Sourcing done around the world
WGACA has a team of buyers that travel the world to search for the finest vintage handbags, accessories, and clothing. This is why on their website and in store you see items that were only available for sale in countries outside the US.
The WGACA team has curated an incredible collection of styles from the most iconic designers and collectable pieces dating all the way back to the 1880s!
2. A mix of Rare Vintage bags & Staple Vintage bags
When I arrived at the store in NYC, I was blown away by all these unique, rare vintage bags they carried. Many of these vintage pieces that are extremely hard to find, limited edition bags, and many have been discontinued. Definitely be prepared to be transported you back in time. I can imagine the excitement when these bags were released years ago, and to see them in such good condition now is mind-blowing.
In addition, the rare vintage luxury bags, there was also a plethora of classic staple vintage bags available! I love to see classic vintage bags and comparing them to how they look today, because they look almost identical, but slightly different!
3. Extremely tough rigorous grading process of the bags
After closely inspecting their vintage handbags at the store, I noticed that almost all of them were in superb condition. I noticed WGACA has one of the most rigorous grading processes, compared to others in the industry. They carefully inspect each and every bag before giving it a grade.
I closely inspected several Hermes Evelyne bags before making my purchase, and each bag was in incredible condition!
4. Guarantee authentic
One thing I always look for when shopping for vintage bags is how do they authentic bags and do they guarantee they are authentic? What Goes Around Comes Around has been around for 30 years and has trained expert authenticators to thoroughly inspect each and every vintage piece. Every item is authenticated 3 times before making it available to the public to purchase. Lastly, they guarantee that all their vintage bags are authentic.
