The Best Cities in Europe to go Luxury Shopping
When it comes to luxury shopping, Europe takes the crown, offering a plethora of high-end shopping experiences. If you’re planning to travel to Europe to go shopping, knowing the best cities to travel to will be key. For the past decade, I’ve had the opportunity to travel and explore some of the finest shopping destinations in Europe. Today, I’m going to be sharing with you my top picks for the best cities in Europe to go luxury shopping.
Paris, France – The Shopping capital of the world
Paris, France, is known as the shopping capital of the world. It’s a must-visit destination if you are looking to go luxury shopping. The city is home to major fashion houses such as Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior and more! The most famous streets to shop luxury in Paris include Avenue Montaigne and Rue Saint-Honoré. If I could only go shopping in one luxury city in Europe, it would hands down be Paris.
Milian, Italy – Shopping haven for luxury fashionistas
Milian is another great European city that is known for its luxury fashion. This city is home to major fashion houses such as Gucci, Prada, Versace, and more. The most popular area in Milian to go shopping is the Quadrilatero della Moda, often referred to as Milan's Fashion Quadrilateral. This is an area that is filled with luxury designer shops. With a rich fashion history and extremely stylish locals offering fashion inspiration, Milian is the perfect city to go luxury shopping.
London, United Kingdom – Classic luxury British Elegance
London is a luxury shopping destination, offering a unique blend of traditional luxury mixed with cosmopolitan flair. London offers upscale department stores such as Harrods and Selfridge, as well as chic boutiques in Mayfair and Knightsbridge. The diverse shopping scene is a dream for those who are looking to achieve luxury British elegance. Plus, it’s home to the iconic Burberry Trench coat, which is a huge draw in my opinion.
Madrid, Spain – a hidden gem for luxury shopping
If you are looking for a hidden gem for luxury shopping that many people don’t think of then I highly recommend Madrid, Spain. The Salamanca district has several luxury brands sprinkled throughout. What I love about shopping in Madrid is it’s a more relaxed, less crowded shopping experience. Madrid is definitely a city worth exploring if you are looking to go luxury shopping.
Zurich, Switzerland – known for luxury and beautiful surroundings
When people think of Zurich many people think of the picturesque views, the mountains, banking, but did you know it’s a huge hub for luxury shopping in Europe? The Bahnhofstrasse is one of the most exclusive shopping streets in Europe. This street is lined with luxury brands such a Cartier, Chanel, Prada, Hermes and more. Zurich has a reputation for providing a sophisticated and luxurious shopping experience. If you are looking to purchase vintage luxury items, Zurich is a great location to do so. Scattered throughout the city, you’ll uncover some incredible savings on luxury brands. Zurich is a great destination for those looking to indulge in luxury and enjoy a stunning setting.
Vienna, Austria – New to the Luxury Market
Vienna is known for its history, culture, and has an emerging luxury shopping scene that is growing every year. While late to the luxury game, Vienna has made strides opening up luxury stores in the Goldene Quartier (Gold Quarter) which shops such as Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Prada, Chanel and more. While it’s still a small shopping scene, Vienna is a wonderful destination for those who are wanting to go luxury shopping in Europe without big crowds.
Florence, Italy – “Renaissance” of Luxury
Florence, Italy is a paradise for luxury shopping. The Via de' Tornabuoni which is the most famous street for luxury shopping is home to fashion houses such as Gucci, Ferragamo, Prada, Chanel, Cartier and more. This area is flooded with a rich history with gorgeous architecture, making it a beautiful place to go shopping. I definitely recommend Florence as a shopping destination. Don’t forget to check out the famous Bridge of Gold also known as “Ponte Vecchio” while in Florence to get an incredible deal on gold jewelry.
