You know what I love more than shopping in Paris? Shopping during the Summer and Winter Sales in Paris! The Paris Sales is my favorite time of the year… in fact, I get a little giddy just thinking about it. That’s because Paris shops are only able to discount items in their store twice a year! The Paris Winter Sales for 2024 will take place from January 10, 2024 – February 6th, 2024 and the Paris Summer Sales will take place from June 26, 2024 – July 24th, 2024.

If you’ve done research on Paris in the Summer, you might have come across something called the Summer / Winter Sales in Paris (Soldes in Paris)! Personally, it’s my favorite time of the year and I’m going to tell you why. However, you may be wondering what exactly are these Sales you speak of?
In Paris, the Government regulates when brands can put items on sales. This is very different from the US, where the store / company gets to decide when they want to place items in their stores on sale. There are 2 times of year that the Government allows Sales to take place in the city. The first time in the Winter and the second time is in the Summer!
One thing most people don’t realize about the Sales in Paris is that every type of store in Paris is on sale…from luxury brands, to jewelry brands, even to gourmet food shops go on sale! More about this below! The best part, you will see brands have savings up to 70% off retail price.
It’s very rare to see a brand have a sale outside the designated sale time, this is due to the fact there is a fee associated with and endless amounts of government paperwork to even apply. Most brands find it’s not worth the effort.
When do the Summer Sales in Paris Start in 2024?
You may be wondering, when do the Summer Sales in Paris Start in 2024?
The Paris Summer Sales are from June 26, 2024, to July 24th 2024. That means you have exactly 28 days to enjoy the Sales this year! Every year the dates change slightly. With that being said, I will continue to update this space to inform you of the most recent Summer Sale’s dates every year.
When are the Winters Sales in Paris in 2024?
The Paris Winter Sales of 2024 will occur on January 10 – Feb 6th 2024!
The Winter Sale and Summer Sale both last 28 days! The Winter Sale in Paris is a great time to shop, because all the items that didn’t sell over the Christmas season get marked down.
What Stores are on Sale During the Paris Sales?
The best part of the winter and summer sales in Paris is that even luxury brands participate!
The most popular luxury brands that participate in the Summer and Winter Sales in Paris are… Balmain, Bulgari, Cartier, Chanel, Chaumet, Chloe, Celine, Dior, Loewe, Louboutin, Louis Vuitton Fendi, Gucci, Givenchy, Goyard, Hermes, Maje, Muglar, YSL, and Many, Many, More!!
With over 60,000 stores in Paris, Paris is one of the most iconic places to go shopping in the world! The most popular department stores to shop at during the Paris Sales Season are Printemps, Galeries Lafayette, Bon Marche, BHV, The Paris Outlet Mall: La Vallee Village. If you are not sure where to go shopping during the Paris Sales, then I definitely recommend you walk around one of these department stores to find some great deals.
It is important to note, that the luxury brands don’t mark down their iconic pieces for the sales. So, I wouldn’t count on a Louis Vuitton Neverfull being on sale, but other items from Louis Vuitton that aren’t their iconic pieces could definitely be part of the sales! Can you receive the VAT Tax Refund during the Sales in Paris?
Yes, you can receive the 12% VAT TAX Refund! I call this a double whammy, not only do you get the benefits of the sales in Paris, you can also claim the VAT Tax refund if you spend over 100 Euros at one store / department store!
Now can you see why I always tell people who are traveling to Paris to go shopping, to plan their trips around the Summer or Winter Sales?!
Refunds can take up to 3 months, and sometimes longer during the busy season. I know it's tough, but try to be patient as you wait for your VAT tax refund to be refunded on your credit card.
Tips for Enjoying the Winter and Summer Sales in Paris
I have 4 simple tips and tricks for being a successful shopper at the Summer Sales in Paris
- Go Shopping on the first day if you are looking for something specific
- Don't forget about the VAT TAX Refund
- Towards the end of the Sales, some stores offer additional discounts
- If possible, Schedule your Summer trip to Paris around the sales (Or winter trip)
