History of the Celine brand
Celine started out as a made-to-measure shoe boutique in Paris by wife and husband duo Celine and Richard Vipiana in 1945. After much success, this dynamic duo decided it was time to expand and Celine launched a ready to wear line that could be worn by the everyday Parisian woman. By the 1970s, Celine had gone “viral” and boutiques were opening around the world. In 1987, The CEO and Chairman of LVMH Bernard took notice of the success and bought Celine, along with all 89 stores. Vipiana stayed head of Celine until she died in 1999.
While many successors have come and gone, it wasn’t until creative director, Phoebe Philo stepped in and sealed the fate of Celine, putting it back on the map as one of the top luxury brands in the world. Many people attribute Phoebe's success to her ability to draw inspiration from the fundamental concept that Céline Vipiana created: The everyday, Parisian chic, minimalist look.

Celine 16 Bag Review
The first day I saw the Celine 16, my jaw dropped. I distinctly remember the iconic photo of Lady Gaga carrying the bag. At the time, my thoughts were what better person to “pre-release” the 16 than Gaga? She is perfect for it. I love how this bag is edgy, yet classic at the same time. The Celine 16 bag comes in 3 sizes, personally I love the smaller sizes so you can wear both day and night.

This Celine tote bag is the ultimate tote bag. The color palette and scheme is immaculate. This tote is equally good for the beach as it is in the city. When this tote bag launched, it sold out immediately and is even hard to find on the second hand market. I was only able to find one vintage Celine Cabas bag after an hour of googling.
