Today I’m going to share with you why Lab Grown Diamonds are worth the price, 5 reasons to purchase a lab grown diamond, and where to buy them. But before I jump in, let’s quickly discuss the history of Lab Grown diamonds.
History of the Lab Grown Diamonds
Surprisingly, lab grown diamonds have been around since 1954 and were developed by GE. These lab grown diamonds weren’t actually used for gemstones, instead they were used for industrial purposes. It was this discovery that lead GE to continue its research and in 1971 they created small gemstone like diamonds and sent them to GIA to be tested. It was only under powerful microscopes the GIA gemologist were able to tell the difference.
Fast-forward to the 1980s, Lab Grown diamonds began to circulate on the commercial market. In the last 10 years have they made remarkable improvements on the process and the technology used today to make these lab grown diamonds, making it impossible to tell the difference between a natural diamond and a lab grown diamond to the naked eye.
Lab Grown Diamonds have the Same DNA as Natural Diamond
One of the most common things I hear people say about lab grown diamonds is they aren’t real, and that statement couldn’t be further from the truth. Lab Grown diamonds are absolutely real.
Lab Grown diamonds have the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as natural diamonds. Plus, they exhibit the exact same scintillation, sparkle and fire.
When you go to purchase a Lab Grown Diamond, you will receive a report with the color and clarity grades, and a diamond certificate. The only difference is that lab grown diamonds are made in a lab and natural diamonds are mined, and Lab Grown diamonds are laser inscription on the griddle of the stone.
Lab Grown diamonds are more affordable than Natural diamonds. You may be wondering, how much more affordable are lab grown diamonds, on average 30-45% cheaper than a natural diamond. For example, I found a 2-Carat Lab Grown Round Super Ideal Cut, Color D, Clarity VVS1 Clarity priced at $6,600 and I found a 2-Carat Natural Grown Diamond Round Super Ideal Cut, Color D, VVSI Clarity priced at $33,890. By buying a 2-carat Lab Grown diamond, you will save $27,290!!!
There are so many things you could do with that savings which include, spending it on the wedding, traveling to Paris on a honeymoon, or even putting it towards your future house. The possibilities are endless. What would you do with those savings? Shop Lab Grown Diamonds!
Nobody Can tell the difference
When I tell you, nobody can tell the difference between a Lab Grown Diamond and a Natural Diamond it’s true, nobody can tell the difference. People might claim they can tell, but as I mentioned in the bullet point above, Lab Grown Diamonds and natural diamonds have the exact same DNA, meaning, the naked eye can’t tell the difference. Think you can tell the difference? In the photo above, I’m wearing one lab grown diamond and one natural diamond. Can you tell which one is which? Shop Lab Grown Diamonds & Shop Natural Diamonds
