6 Unique French Souvenirs to Bring Home from Paris
If your family and friends are anything like mine, they always want cool and unique souvenirs from the places I visit. I also love bringing home a home for myself to remember my great adventure. If you are traveling to Paris, you may be wondering what are some of the best French Souvenirs to bring home? By far the best French souvenirs to bring home from Paris include, French Butter, French Wine, a Box of Macarons from Pierre Hermé, My French Country Box, a Book from Shakespeare and Co, and Parisian Perfume.
French Butter (Beurre)
One of the most simple yet delicious things to eat in Paris is a baguette with French butter. Did you know that you can actually bring home French Butter or as the French say Beurre back to the US? I highly recommend bringing home French butter for the person in your life who loves cooking. The best place to purchase French Butter is what is La Grande Epicerie Paris in the 7th arrondissement because they have the freshest and most delicious butter in Paris. There was such a demand for traveling home with this French butter that for an extra 1 Euro they can vacuum seal the butter so it remains fresh and ready to travel.
I often refer to La Grande Epicerie Paris as the “fancy grocery store” because of its high quality food and prices. This grocery store is also connected to the luxury department store Le Bon Marche and I definitely recommend that you experience the magic of this high-end grocery store.
French Wine
I love a good bottle of wine, and France and home to over 27,000 wineries. A great souvenir to bring home from Paris is a nice bottle of French wine. You can purchase wine in the city or even at the airport. Personally, I love picking up bottles of wine duty free at the airport because you don’t have to worry about packing the bottle(s) and potentially breaking in your suitcase. The best part about purchasing French Wine in France is the price. I’ve been able to find delicious bottles for under 8 Euros.
Box of Macarons from Pierre Hermé
A box of macarons from Pierre Hermé is the perfect French souvenir to bring home for that dessert lover. Pierre Hermé no longer sells his macarons in the US, so it’s definitely a treat to indulge in macarons made by the famous Pierre Hermé. Pierre Hermé is known for crafting flavorful macarons that will leave you craving another bite. By far, my favorite and best macarons available in Paris!
Since macarons are a perishable treat, they only last 7 days unrefrigerated. Make sure as soon as you purchase your macarons put them in your refrigerator asap or purchase on your last day in Paris. Pierre Hermé also has a location at the CDG airport in terminal 2.
My French Country Home Box
What about the gift that keeps on giving? The My French Country Home Box also known as my Stylish French box is a curated box of French only products that ships anywhere in the world. This is the perfect souvenir to bring home from Paris if you are running low on suitcase space. You can simply order the My French Country Home box online and have it shipped to your family or friends back home. If you are feeling very generous you can even purchase them a subscription model. I purchased the mother daughter my stylish French box for my Mom and she absolutely adored it. Purchase a My French Country Home Box
Book from Shakespeare and Company
If you are trying to find the perfect souvenir for a book lover, then you definitely have to purchase a book from Shakespeare and Co in Paris! Shakespeare and Co is known for being the first English bookstore in Paris. F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway were known to find inspiration and visit the bookstore frequently! You could easily spend an entire day here, relaxing, reading a book, and exploring this cute little bookshop. If you are in Paris during the springtime, there are gorgeous Cherry Blossom Trees that bloom right in front of the shop.
Local Parisian Perfume
One of the best souvenirs to bring home from Paris is local Parisian Perfume! There is something so delightful about a perfume that the Parisians wear. If you are looking to smell like a Parisian, then I highly recommend Goutal Paris Petite Cherie, Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez, Twilly Eau Giner by Hermes, Kenzo Flower, and Maison Francis Kurkjian Paris A la Rose. These are great perfumes to purchase in Paris, if you are looking to achieve that Parisian scent. Many of these perfumes you can find in the airport duty free.
